Chief Innovation Officer
KV Anand (KV) is the Chief Innovation Officer at the Gopalakrishnan Deshpande Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at IIT Madras. He is a Professor of Practice at IIT Jamu and Chief Mentor at the International Centre for Clean Water at IIT Madras.
KV has a rich history of mentoring Startup founders in their early stages, many of whom have gone on to achieve remarkable success and rapid growth. He has a deep understanding of the Indian Startup ecosystem. He was also instrumental in launching the I-STEM Programme (which is modelled on the US National Science Foundation’s i-Corps Programme) at University of New Brunswick, Canada.
Earlier, in his corporate career spanning nearly 25 years, KV has made significant contributions at STAR TV, Tata Sky, and Flipkart. He was part of the founding team at Tata Sky, where he played a crucial role in building the company from scratch and scaling it to over 12 million customers. His experience in these leading organizations has shaped his passion for developing high-performance teams and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset.
KV is a Cost and Management Accountant by education (CMA), a Certified Innovation and Entrepreneurship Coach (George Washington University Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship), and a Certified Expert in Market Opportunities Navigator (Where to Play).
He is also a Professional Certified Coach (ICF), a certified MBTI and Strong Interest Inventory professional, and an NLP practitioner.
