I have been a mentor for two cohorts in GDC. I find the platform very useful not just for the start-ups but also for me as a mentor.
We find that most start-ups are so technology focused that they tend to ignore looking at their business from a customer point of view and the value it creates for them.
This customer discovery process and value proposition discovery that the GDC focuses on, really helps start-ups decide on the path they should take to build sustainable businesses that can scale.
It has also helped me to structure and focus my thoughts on what the business means to its user and how we can have an outside-in view of a business.
